What is a Pinterest Carousel?

According to Pinterest:

A carousel is a pin with multiple images. Carousels are a great way to showcase different features of a product, advertise multiple products at once, or tell your brand story in chapters.

When you search on Pinterest you will see a carousel pin just like you would see any other pin. Users of Pinterest can swipe through multiple images within the “carousel” or what Pinterest calls cards. In order to use this feature, you need to have a Pinterest Business account.

When to Use:

Pinterest Carousel Pins: Improve your reach and see if it will help you marketing
  • When you want to show off multiple product pins
  • After mastering your Pinterest Marketing
  • When you have a solid strategy and are at a point you are testing new things
  • If you want to promote services through testimonials

When to Avoid:

  • If you are just getting started with Pinterest
  • If you don’t fully understand what they are or how to test them
  • If you want to schedule them. Pinterest carousel pins are not available for this feature.

Most users of Pinterest aren’t used to seeing or actually swiping through carousels, so make sure your descriptions of these tell them to swipe. Additionally, each card on the carousel can link to a different URL which can be confusing to users.
