Understand Your Main Business Topics
What is your business all about and what would your ideal client be searching for on Pinterest? Keep these topics very high level. We will be creating multiple boards for each topic.
For example, if I am a fashion blogger my ideal client may be searching for these things:
- Parenting Tips
- Business Tips
- Summer Crafts
- Mindset Quotes
Then break each of those down. So if we are breaking down Parenting Tips we would go down to what categories would fall under those topics. Some boards that fit this topic may include:
- Kids Crafts
- Kids books
- School Worksheets
- How to teach life skills
- Summer Family Vacation ideas
Create New Pinterest Boards
Once you have those categories for each of your topics, create your new Pinterest Boards! Having board covers that are consistent and branded can help solidify your brand and personal strategy for your business marketing. However, having or not having board covers won’t make or break your marketing on Pinterest. Instead, focus on creating and repinning your fantastic content to multiple boards to maximize your reach.
So if you are into fashion you may want a board for your brand, plus size clothes, pants, shirts, graphic t-shirts, jumpers, special occasions, etc. If you are trying to sell a course about Instagram, you may want boards such as creating Instagram images, places to take Instagram photos in different cities, Instagram Tips, etc
Pinning Your Content to Multiple Pinterest Boards
Once you create a pin from your content, whether that is an image to a replicated website, blog post, or product/service, you want to pin it to multiple boards. Using numerous Pinterest Boards maximizes your reach and helps to ensure that various people see your pin in their feed.
Using a service such as Tailwind can help you automate your Pinterest feed and set up a schedule based on when your followers are online to help you get more eyes on your products or services and make it easier on you. However, you can manually share your content as well. The key here is being consistent.
Pinterest Board Strategy
As you now know, having a good board strategy will help draw your ideal client to you. After they are within your net, you have to continue to provide them value and get them to trust you so they will purchase from you.
