One of the first tips you can do is take care of yourself. That means being conscious of what you put into your body. That includes what you eat and drink. Ensure you are getting your water intake every day and try to make healthier eating choices.

Move Your Body

Moving your body goes along with eating and drinking healthier. Your natural body defenses start to kick in when you move your body. I am not going to tell you to exercise, because true exercise isn’t as important here as simply making an effort to move more than you normally would.

Start small. Park further away from the store doors or take the long way back to your desk. Get up and walk to another room and walk back once an hour. Whatever you do, make a choice to do it more than you typically would.

Limit Your Excuses

It’s human nature when learning how to manage stress to give out excuses on why things are the way they are. Don’t do this. Excuses don’t actually excuse bad behavior and often shine a negative light on you.

The last thing you want is to be the person everyone thinks is a complainer, or a nonproductive worker. Make a list, determine what you can accomplish, set goals and work smart. Do yourself the favor of not adding excuses to that list of things you want.

Instead of focusing on the failure, focus on the positive of the situation. Do not tell me about how you didn’t get a promotion, instead tell me about how you are working to develop skills to get a new position. How you tolerate failure is in your control and if you are failing to find ways to further yourself is that failing? Or did you find learning opportunities?
