When we listen to the negativity in our lives we can’t see past it to the things we are privileged enough to enjoy. Finding and having an attitude of gratitude does not have to be as difficult as we make it. Appreciation is at the core of gratitude, and you can learn to appreciate everything.

What does it mean to have gratitude?
It is simply showing appreciation for what you have. That’s all it takes to have a grateful heart full of gratitude. Being thankful, showing appreciation, and seeking kindness in every moment sounds so easy when you read it.
Reality is a different story.
It’s really hard to stop listening to the negativity that we surround ourselves with. It’s easier to be negative than it is to be positive. It’s so easy to blame our failures for not getting things done. Challenge yourself to take the path less traveled and find the things you have that you can be grateful for.

Locate your Attitude of Gratitude
Having an attitude of gratitude can be super challenging but you need to find your inner voice of positive and hang onto it for dear life. That is the single voice that can pull you from the depths of drowning. Drowning in self doubt, criticism, and gloom does not benefit you and your goals.
I don’t think you can truly appreciate your wealth (yes you are wealthy) unless you embrace what has been provided to you. (Now I am not saying you didn’t work for those possessions.)
Let’s Wrap it up
Helping others to develop their gratitude skills is super important to me. That is why recently, over at The Inspiring Llama, we did a fun community challenge based on gratitude. There were 15 daily prompts to get people to locate everyday things in their lives.
If you would like to do something like this on your Facebook Page or in a group you are welcome to borrow my graphics. In the meantime, I hope you come over and join us in our community focused on helping connect, stay positive, and learn to truly appreciate the little things.
