If you have been blogging for a long time, you know that when they decided to change WordPress from the classical editor to the blocks, it was BIG news. Now Studio Press has released Genesis Blocks to help revolutionize the blogging experience.

Not yet blogging? Now might be the time to make the leap.

Let’s dig in and see what there is to love and hate about this WordPress plugin.

What are Genesis Blocks?

If you have been blogging for a long time, you know that when they decided to change WordPress from the classical editor to the blocks, it was BIG news. Now Studio Press has released Genesis Blocks to help revolutionize the blogging experience.

From the Plugin Page: “Genesis Blocks is a collection of page building blocks for the Gutenberg block editor. Building pages with the block editor and Genesis Blocks gives you more control to quickly create and launch any kind of site you want!

Where can you get this plugin for your own blog? Genesis Blocks are easy to install from the plugin section of your WordPress hosting.

This plugin includes 22 different blocks and can be used on any theme. Of course because the makers are the same as StudioPress themes the developers want you to use those, but really it doesn’t matter.

Genesis Block Love

There are many reasons to love the new functionality you get with the Genesis blocks. Here are just a few of them:

  • Easily add in testimonials.
  • Layouts!
  • Prebuilt and customizable columns, pricing, & call to actions
  • Accordion blocks make building Q&A sections super easy
  • Tons of other options….

I absolutely love this plugin. I love it so much that I have built this entire site using it. Every landing page, click through area, and blog post is built using Genesis Blocks

Genesis Block Hate

Like most plugins, there is a PRO option which is expensive. Now I’m not against the developers who want to make some money. After all, I know they need to make money to continue their creative genius. That doesn’t mean I still don’t appreciate when things are free.

Wrapping it up

While there are many plugins available, most will not give you the versatility this one does. Creating beautiful landing pages, blog posts, while having creative liberty is hard to compare to.
